Anundoram award given away at Hailakandi

HAILAKANDI, February 18 – The Excise & Border Areas Development Minister Gautam Roy distributed computer set and a certificate under Anundoram Borooah Award to the 298 students of Hailakandi district, who secured first division in the last HSLC and High Madrassa final examination. The function held on the occasion at Nazrul Sadan in Hailakandi was presided over by the additional deputy commissioner of Hailakandi, BC Nath. The meeting was addressed by educationist Bijoy Kumar Dhar, Manash Kanti Das, Hilal Uddin Laskar, BEEO Abdul Matin Choudhury, DI of Schools, Ishaque Ali Barbhuiya among others.

Roy in his address, urged the students to be more sincere for securing the top positions in the final examinations. He also urged the teachers to dedicate themselves for the cause of the education. He said that the talented students having good results are still given priority. source: assam tribune
