International Trade Fair under way

GUWAHATI, Oct 14: The 3rd Asom International Trade Fair, organized by the North East Trade Promotion and Development Council (NETPDC) got under way at the Khanapara playground in Guwahati today. The fair was inaugurated by State Social Welfare Minister Akon Bora. Inaugurating the trade fair, Bora said, ‘‘Under the leadership of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Asom has witnessed rapid industrialization. We are making efforts to make Asom an investment friendly destination which will surely help young entrepreneurs in the near future.’’ The 13-day fair will feature nearly 400 stalls, besides participation of 13 foreign countries. The organizers have also lined up a cultural bonanza to attract people. Meanwhile, the DoNER ministry in association with the NETPDC will organize a two-day seminar on October 23-24 in Guwahati. The seminar will be attended by ambassadors of South East Asian countries. THE SENTINEL
