GUWAHATI, Oct 28 – Amway Opportunities Foundation (AOF) celebrated International White Cane Day on October 20 countrywide and distributed over 3000 white canes to the visually challenged people.
At Guwahati, Additional DGP Dilip Borah inaugurated the celebration at Guwahati Blind School in presence of Amway northeast area manager Bikramjit Paul and Bhaben Burman, principal, Guwahati Blind School. Over 75 white canes were distributed among the students.
On the occasion, AOF also donated Braille text books to the school as per commitment towards project Sunrise. AOF chairman WS Pinckney said in a message that “This series of functions is a reiteration of AOF’s and indeed Amway’s commitment to the visually challenged children in India”. – Staff Reporter
