AGP takes up influx, other issues with President

GUWAHATI, Dec 18: A delegation of the AGP led by its president Chandra Mohan Patowary and working president Phani Bhushan Choudhury today met President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil and sought her intervention in putting an end to illegal infiltration from Bangladesh and commencing dialogue with the ULFA as soon as possible. The delegation also drew the attention of the President to the long-standing demand of six ethnic groups of the State for ST status. Other issues raised by the delegation are the threat perception from mega dam projects in Arunachal Pradesh, abnormal rise in prices of essential commodities etc. THE SENTINEL
