ITANAGAR, Dec 17: Arunachal Pradesh fares poor in Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) loss of power at 60% owing to reasons like corruption, power theft, mismanagement etc., compared to national average of 25 to 30 per cent.
This was informed by Eastern Zone Power Chief Engineer Annong Perme while opening the two days training programme here today for trainers on conservation of energy organized by Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency (APEDA) in collaboration with National Productivity Council (NPC), Mumbai.
Expressing concern over global threats like climate change and global warming, Perme advocated a global revolution to help in dealing with these. Stressing on conservation Perme said, “Energy conservation not only deals with the aspects of the problem facing the world, it also provides multifaceted approach towards the energy need while calling for involvement of all departments in creating awareness on it.” While APEDA Director Marki Loya enlightened on energy conserving concepts that would help save at least forty per cent of the total energy being used, S B Sadananda, Director, Regional Professional Management Group NPC, Mumbai, said that India is growing fast in its commercial sectors.
“In the world we are small but amongst the small we are big,” said Sadananda urging engineers and technocrats to make efforts to conserve energy and evolve measures to improve energy and energy efficiency.
Besides Sadananda, NPC Director T S Narayanan will also act as a Resource Person in the two-day training programme. THE SENTINEL
