DIMORIA/GUWAHATI, Dec 16: Sonapur continues to be tense with thousands of people taking to the streets demanding arrest of Dr Dhaniram Baruah and boycotting him publicly. The slogan-shouting processionists also held a protest meeting in front of Sonapur police station. The meeting was emphatic that Dr Dhaniram Baruah was involved in the Sonapur killings. Meanwhile, the State Government has decided to hand over the murder case to the CID.
The meeting demanded of the police to conduct a massive raid in the Heart City of Dr Baruah. The processionists also submitted a memorandum to the police demanding immediate arrest of Dr Baruah and a high-level inquiry into the incident of recovery of the two human heads from the campus of his heart institute.
The Dimoria Tribal Sangha, on the other hand, has appealed to the people of the locality not to work in the Heart City of Dr Baruah so as to evict the “controversial” doctor from Sonapur. The Sangha has also appealed to the people of the locality not to allow the “controversial” doctor to enter Dimoria.
Meanwhile, when contacted by The Sentinel for his comment, Dr Baruah said: “The charges are fabricated. The local people and the police have been misled by the perpetrators of the crime.”
When asked who could be behind the incident, Dr Baruah said: “There may be a racket of land-grabbers who continue to keep an eye on the vast tract of land that I possess at Sonapur and multinational drug companies that feel the market of their drugs will be affected by the genetic drugs which I am inventing. Some people of Guwahati are behind the local people of Sonapur.” The Heart City has hundreds of dogs, goats, pigs and ducks of various breed in its campus. THE SENTINEL
