Chennai (PTI): South Indian stars Asin, Nayanthara, Meera Jasmine and Bharat and veteran actress B Saroja Devi are among those who will receive the Kalaimamani awards, instituted by the Tamil Nadu government.
A total of 70 persons will be given the awards in recognition of their work in their respective fields, an official press release said.
Other notable awardees are Tamil scholar Avvai Natarajan, Carnatic musicians Maharajapuram Sreenivasan, VS Kumar, Embar Kannan, Vazhuvoor Ravi and Veeramani Raju, noted drummer Shivamani, orator Suki Sivam, Bharathanatyam dancers Aishwarya Rajnikanth Dhanush, Vasantha Mukunth and Swetha Gopalan, film producer Abhirami Ramanathan and small screen artistes Sundar K Vijayan, Thiruselvan and Abhishek, the release added.
