GUWAHATI, April 8 – The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is likely to file the chargesheet in connection with the October 30 serial blasts in the next few days. Director General of Assam Police GM Srivastava told newsmen today that the investigation into the biggest ever terror attack in the Northeast was nearing completion, though a few more people are yet to be booked.
“Very soon the charge sheet would be submitted. This is the impression I got during my conversation with the CBI officials recently,” Srivastava said.
He, however, revealed that one of the accused of the October 30 serials blasts, which claimed over 90 lives, had flown to Bangladesh recently.
The CBI was handed over the case by the Assam Police a few months back.
Asked about the status of the investigations into the violation of sanctity of Kaziranga National Park by two MLAs, Jiten Gogoi and Kushal Duori, the DGP informed that both of them were out of the State and would be arrested very soon.
“No one is above the law,” said the DGP.
About the alleged involvement of Mohit Hojai in the international arms dealing racket, the DGP said, “It would not be right to name anyone at this moment but having said that we can tell for sure that there is a group involved in it and we are establishing the links. If proven guilty, no one would be spared,” asserted the DGP. ASSAM TRIBUNE
