GUWAHATI, June 8 – The third phase of the discussion process initiated by Kalakshetra Society to preserve and promote Bhaona and Ankia Bhaona concluded recently in the premises of the Kalakshetra. The three-day programme was inaugurated by vice chairman of Kalakshetra Society, Ratna Oja.
Sattradhikars from across the State participated in the discussion which revolved round acting and use of mask in Ankia Bhaona and Bhaona. The sattradhikars agreed that a qualitative deterioration had crept into the performing arts and called for concerted efforts for preserving the performing arts in all their former grandeur as well as making them relevant to changing tastes and preferences.
