SHILLONG, March 4: In the wake of the recent BDR mutiny, Bangladesh has made a plea to the international community to help in its quest to restore peace and order in the country. In this regard it may be mentioned that besides India, Bangladesh has also sought the help of Great Britain and the USA.
While India has done its bit by enhancing vigilance on the international borders to nab the fleeing mutineers, Bangladesh plea for help from Great Britain has been complied with, stated the British High Commissioner to India Sir Richard Stagg in Shillong today.
“The newly elected democratic government in Bangladesh has asked us to aid them in finding a solution and we are ready to help the government to expeditiously deal with the problems”, stated the British High Commissioner to Bangladesh
The British High Commissioner while terming the Lahore attack as “appalling”, wished that the newly elected government in Pakistan would act in such manner as to take positive steps whereby these organized terror groups can be brought under control.
Notwithstanding the known fact that Bangladesh is a safe haven for Northeast India insurgent groups , Stagg said, “ any perpetrators of terror should be dealt by the same yard stick”. The Sentinel
