Testing times for the physically challenged

SHILLONG, March 4: Physically and visually challenged students will sit down along with other students to take the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate examinations in 79 centres across the state. Altogether 22,524 students will be sitting to test their academic skills, six vocational trainees are also in the race of for academic success. Out of 22,524 students, 18,080 belong to the arts stream, 2687 to the science stream while 1751 students belong to the commerce stream. The board exams conducted by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) will conclude on March 23. The Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations are also scheduled to be held from March 6 to 20. A total of 37,201 candidates, including 14,728 regular candidates and 22,473 non-regular or private candidates, will appear in the examinations scheduled to be held in 77 centres of the state. Ten visually impaired are amongst the 37,201 students who are also going to appear at the SSLC examinations under Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE). As per the available information, of the ten visually impaired students, six are from Montfort Centre for Education Tura and four are from Jyotisroat School Shillong.
