Zubeen Garg’s album burnt

DIBRUGARH, March 12 – A stock of audio-video cassette ‘Janmoni 2009’ of Assam’s music idol Zubeen Garg was destroyed at the Thanachariali intersection here on Tuesday following protests by women organisations over alleged demeaning of women through the lyrics of the musical album. The protesting women led by All Assam Pragatishil Nari Sanstha have found few lines of the music offensive and said it affected women’s dignity.

The women group who also submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner have demanded total ban of the music album.ASSAM TRIBUNE
