KAMPUR, June 10 – The people of entire Kampur Revenue Circle have been demanding a railway gate on the western side of Kampur Railway Station in view of a number of educational institutions being situated along the railway line causing a great deal of risk to the school going students while crossing the railway line.
Very often the students have to stop low to cross a waiting train, which is very dangerous. A number of accidents have taken place when students are in haste to reach the school.
The conscious citizens of Kampur area feel that the railway authority should immediately construct a railway gate with at least a foot bridge on the western side of Kampur railway station for safety of the students and general public as well.
Inaugurated: A newly constructed school building of Kameswar Barthakur MV School was inaugurated by RM Barthakur, retired principal in the presence of a sizeable number of education and local public, besides a good number of teachers and students.
The building was constructed with a grant of Rs 6.06 lakh sanctioned by Sarva Siksha Mission to cat to the needs of increasing number of students in the school.
The century old MV School is one of the oldest in undivided Nagaon District which has played a vital role in disseminating primary education in the southern part of Nagaon district. The main building of the school is now in a very dilapidated state necessitating immediate renovation.
Radha Bora, headmaster of the school in his speech narrated in detail the account of expenditure in cured in construction of the school building.
