GANGTOK, Sept 16: Seven girls were rescued from Tadong and Syari areas with the police busting a flesh trade racket in Sikkim. Acting on a tip off that some girls were being held at various places for despatch to Mumbai and Goa for flesh trade, a police team rescued seven of them, Superintendent of Police (SP), East, M S Tuli said.
The girls, whose identities were not divulged, were lured with promises of being paid Rs 50,000 to 60,000 per month to perform before the guests at hotels in Mumbai and Goa, he said. A man identified as Vidur Rai, who was holding the girls, was arrested. (PTI)
