HOWRAGHAT, Oct 11: With an aim to popularize and spread the Bhupendra Sangeet among children, a day-long programme was organized at Howraghat under the aegis of the premier literary organization Axom Xahitya Xabha, Howraghat unit on Sunday.
On the first day, the literary organization’s flag was hoisted by Tarun Chandra Handique, president of Howraghat unit Axom Xahitya Xabha, at 8 am followed by smriti tarpan led by Ramnath Bora and the Rasharaj Laxminath Bejborua Library was inaugurated by Basanta Das.
In the evening, the Bhupendra Sangeet competition was inaugurated by Subhash Chandra Handique at 3 pm. Besides this, dance competition on Bhupendra Sangeet was also organized that was inaugurated by Darshan Singh.
Children from entire Howraghat and Bakaliaghat took part in the competitions. THE SENTINEL
