BSF apprehends two Bangladeshi infiltrators

SHILLONG, Oct 8: In an anti-infiltration drive, BSF troops apprehended two Bangladeshi nationals in Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya. One of them identified as Safiqul Islam (18) of Muktishpur village under Sonagaon police station in Narayanganj district of Bangladesh was apprehended along with Bangladeshi Taka 2,378 and a mobile set at Dawki BOP yesterday, while the other who has been identified as Atikur Rehman (50) of Sareef Nagar village under Kanaighat police station of Sylhet district of Bangladesh was apprehended along with Bangladeshi Taka 10 and one diary today. Both of them were apprehended while they were entering India.

BSF troops of the Assam and Meghalaya Frontier also seized a herd of cattle (8), liquor, wooden and other contraband items from the bordering area of Dhubri district of Asom and hilly area of Meghalaya while those items were being smuggle out to Bangladesh. The estimated price of the seized items is approximately Rs 2.82 lakh. THE SENTINEL
