AGARTALA, Oct 9: The Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) has assured to render a helping hand to develop mining industries in the North-eastern region. IBM officials expressed their willingness at a two-day workshop and vocational camp that concluded here yesterday.
The workshop and vocational training was held on the United Nations’ framework classification for reserve estimations and its main objective was to spread awareness about utilizing the mines’ wealth judiciously. Controller General of IBM CS Ganduwar said it will help in developing the industries technology, improvement of infrastructure, increase of exports through training, among others, with the help of the DoNER Ministry.
Representatives from all the North-eastern States, including Sikkim, took part in the programme. The Controller General said the Centre had given top priority to developing the mines industry in the NE States. (UNI)
