BOMDILA, Nov 12: After Tawang and Dirang, Bomdila, the headquarters of West Kameng district, decorated to the teeth, today offered a warm reception to the 14th Dalai Lama, as he landed here this afternoon on a chartered chopper after a brief stop at Dirang.
Monks of Thubchog Gastsel-Ling and Gaden Rabgyal-Ling Monasteries, devotees and who’s who of the district lined up at the helipad to welcome the Tibetan spiritual leader on a visit to the State since November 8.

“My dream has been fulfilled and I am so happy that I have seen His Holiness,” said an old man amongst the thousands lined up all along the way to the monastery.
The Dalai Lama is slated to perform the long-life initiation and long-life ceremony at the Budha Stadium Bomdila here, which is expected to be attended by thousands from Bomdila and far-flung villages of the district. He will also address public at the same venue.
Earlier at Dirang, His Holiness sanctified the Thupsang-dhargye-Ling monastery and also planted a Christmas tree. Giving sermons to the devotees at the Dirang stadium, His Holiness emphasized on the four noble thoughts of Buddhism.
“There is no big or small religion in the world. Every religion is same and we need religious harmony in the world for the well-being of all living creatures,” he said and added that people should kill the ego within, which is the root of all evils. THE SENTINEL
