Dhaniram Institute set afire after human head recovery

From a Correspondent

DIMORIA, Dec 15: A great deal of sensation prevailed at Jogdol village under Sonapur police station in the Dimoria area today with the recovery of the two human heads that were identified as that of Tukul Doloi (6) and Atul Doloi (6) who had been hacked to death along with four other members of their family on Saturday night. While the heads of other members of the family were intact with their bodies, the heads of Tukul and Atul were missing.

The development came when the people of the locality noticed a stray dog carrying a human head. The dog fled leaving the head behind when the people raised a hue and cry. The head was without an eye, an ear and teeth on the lower jaw. On being informed of the incident by the people of the locality, the police rushed to the spot, and under pressure from the irate mob they went to conduct a search in Dr Dhaniram Baruah Heart Institute as the dog carried the human head from that side. The people of the locality also identified the head as that of Atul.

The police went to the Institute but could not enter it. Soon Guwahati SSP Pradip Saloi and Dispur DSP Navajit Mahanta rushed to the spot and found the other head from the campus of the Institute after a search. During their search in the campus of the Institute, the police did not get any other human organs.

On suspicion, the police detained six employees of the heart institute.

However, not being satisfied with the action of the police, the local people set the Institute afire. Since fire tenders were kept ready by the police as soon as the matter was reported, the fire was soon brought under control. Dr Dhaniram Baruah, who is in Bangalore, said over telephone that none of the employees of his institute was involved in the incident. He said it was conspiracy against him by some doctors.

Other members who had been hacked to death on Saturday night were 45-year-old Harakanta Doloi, a daily wage-earner, his wife Swapna Doloi (40), daughters Pranita Doloi (9) and Sabita Doloi (12). THE SENTINEL
