Hardcore ULFA man surrenders

SHILLONG, Dec 23: A ‘corporal’ of the ULFA -- Jatin Shaw alias Alput Thapa — surrendered himself to BSF IG Prithvi Raj today.

Jatin (25), who hails from Chokalia under Barapather police station in Golaghat district, Assam, joined ‘B’ company of the ULFA in 2003 and underwent training at 1st Bn Naga rebel camp in Myanmar. He later worked as personal security of the outfit’s B company commander Sujeet Mohan. Jatin was wanted by the Assam Police in many cases of extortion and killings.

Jatin surrendered a 9mm pistol and a magazine. He was handed over to the police. THE SENTINEL
