Power of KAAC not surrendered: Engti

HOWRAGHAT, Dec 27: Regarding the surrendered of autonomy power in the Karbi Anglong autonomous district a chaotic situation is rising in the minds of common people in the hill district since past couple of months. The mouth to mouth spreading news of the ‘surrender of autonomy power’ is basically confusing the hill community Karbi people. Moreover, clarifying the ongoing rumour on ‘surrender of autonomy power’, the Assam Hills Area Minister (HAD), Kharsing Engti on Sunday renounced on the non surrender of autonomy power of the Karbi Anglong autonomous district. Engti while addressing the Congress rally held at Dokmoka Shildharampur clearly said that neither autonomy power is surrendered nor power of KAAC has been seized by the State Government. It is nothing but a false propaganda of the opposition parties. Finding no political issue, the opposition parties are attempting to mislead common Karbi people as well as the non Karbi people of the of the district. Spreading such rumour and baseless issue they (opposition parties) are hopping to get political mileage, the HAD Minister Engti added. Here people have nothing to worry. State Government will never allow KAAC to implement such unfair and anti non Karbi new land policy in the district. Whatever, new land patta issued to the landlords by the KAAC is similar with the other districts of the State and all the adopted land policy is completely implemented as per Assam Land Act, Engti reiterated. Meanwhile, Minister Engti urged the public not to keep confidence on the false fabricated propaganda of the opposition parties.
