SHILLONG, Dec 6: Western Youth Federation (WYF) central body has decided to call a two-night road blockade in the entire district of West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya in support of its demand for announcement of DSC results of the written examinations held in 2008.
The WFY yesterday held a meeting at Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills, and decided to hold two-night road blockade from December 10 at 6 pm to 5 am of December 11 and from 6 pm of December 11 to 5 am of December 12.
Addressing mediapersons, WYF general secretary Liver Paul Kharbani said: “The late response of the State Government to the demand for DSC Secretary and the pending DSC results have compelled the federation to resort to the two-night road blockade in entire West Khasi Hills.”
The federation urged the people of the district, various NGOs of the district, youths, the local vehicles and other private cars to support the action taken up by the federation.
“The federation will not take any responsibility if something happens during the hour of the blockade, because the federation has taken up a peaceful agitation that will not affect the common people,” said Kharbani. THE SENTINEL
