BPF kicks off election campaign

UDALGURI, Dec 6: The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) kicks off election campaign holding a special convention at Kapurpura village under the Harisinga Block area today. The meeting was presided over by Bhuban Daimary, the president Harisinga Block Committee BPF and conducted by Tridip Daimary, the general secretary Hairsinga Block BPF. Rihon Daimary, the Assam PHE Minister and the Udalguri District BPF President has revealed the developmental activities in and around Udalguri under the BPF regime. During the meeting, more than 1,000 people from Congress, BJP, AGP, BPPF and AUDF joined BPF showing their allegiance to the party leaders. In this meeting, the Harisinga MLA Kartik Chandra Boro has distributed a leaflet on development schemes implemented under his constituency. Thousands of people thronged to the convention showing their huge support to the party has encouraged the party leaders today. Kartik Boro seems jubilant on the occasion and accoladed to his supporters. Boro extending his thanks to the people said that, a total irrigation and drinking water facilities will be completed soon. It is noteworthy here that, the BTC election is due to be held in March-April in 2010. THE SENTINEL
