GUWAHATI, March 16 – The executive committee meeting of the Government Pensioner’s Association, Guwahati branch was held recently at the Lakshmi Ram Sarala Bala Das auditorium of Pensioners’ Bhawan, with Dr Kiran Chandra Sarma in the chair, a press release said.
The meeting started with the pensioners’ Sushana Geet. The meeting condoled the death of its members and eminent persons in recent times.
Annada Charan Bhuyan, secretary of the Association explained the purpose of the meeting and read out the secretarial report of the last meeting and also apprised the members about details of observing foundation day on January 13 along with Pensioners’ Fortnight from January 17 to 31, 2009 and besides progress of construction of Niramoy Bhawan.
Munindra Nath Sarma, treasurer tabled the unaudited income and expenditure statement.
Sailen Goswami, Putul Sarma and Dr Dwijin Chandra Hazarika took part in the discussion on the above points and offered some valuable suggestion.
