Dutch tourist killed by wild elephant in Kaziranga National Park

GUWAHATI, April 7 – A Dutch tourist was killed inside the Kaziranga National Park this morning after being trampled by a wild elephant. According to official sources, Robert V Goldbach was taking part in a trek along with other tourists, when a wild elephant charged at them. While others of the group managed to get away, Goldbach who was intent on photographing the pachyderm, was viciously attacked.

Park Director SN Buragohain said that the tourist was killed on the spot, and his body was taken to Golaghat for post-mortem and the Dutch Embassy at New Delhi has been informed. ASSAM TRIBUNE
