AJYCP burns Railway GM’s effigy

JORHAT, March 12: Activists of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) Jorhat town committee burnt the effigy of the Northern Frontier Railway General Manager (GM) Asutush Swami,s effigy at Jorhat railway station here on March 10. The students body alleged that the GM of the NF railway allegedly appointed 150 non-Asomiya peoples at the railway department in Asom till March 9, by depriving the local youths. They further alleged that the railway department has turned a deaf ear to the repeated pleas of the students’ body regarding this matter.

Demanding to ensure 100 per cent appointment of the local youths in the NF Railway, the students’ body warned the authorities concerned to stop such alleged attitudes towards the North East region of the country. They also warned the government to fulfill their demands immediately and said that they would take up serious agitation immediately if their demand are not fulfilled.
