DIBRUGARH, July 29: The local people of Timona Agnipothar under Lahoal LAC are demanding the construction of the connecting road to the bridge over the Sessa River. The residents of the area have to take this route to reach Lahoal and other places. Earlier, they had to cross the river in boats. Ten years back, when Prithibi Majhi was elected as the MLA from Lahoal, he took up the initiative of building a bridge over it. While the connectivity definitely improved thereafter, the PWD did not construct the road leading to and from the structure despite money being allotted for it. The road turns into a muddy stretch during the rainy season, causing much distress to travellers. The local people are demanding that the PWD should take up steps to develop it as soon as possible.
