KOKRAJHAR, July 29: Kokrajhar MP Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary has demanded before the Union Railway Minister for introduction of more train services in the NE Region besides modernization and upgrading of railway stations as well as stoppage of express trains in certain railway stations of lower Asom including Kokrajhar. The demands include– opening of new railway lines from Salakati Station to Gelegphu (Bhutan) from Rangia Junction to Sandrupzhongkar and Fakiragram to Jomduar (Bhutan) to speed up the trade link with neighbouring Bhutan. He said, the Rangia Railway Division should be extended to Srirampur Railway Station and the Ministry of Railway should introduce three more train service connecting Murkhong Seleck of Arunachal Pradesh via BTC area to New Delhi and one each local express train from Dhubri to Guwahati and Nagaon to Guwahati to meet the local demands.
