Offender confesses of rape

DAPORIJO, Oct 8: The Upper Subansiri district police arrested one Hari Singh, a sector officer with the Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB), of raping a minor at Daporijo. Sources said Singh confessed of the crime before the police, which he had committed six months ago. The victim was raped while she was distributing milk in the early morning on that day. She did not report anybody of the incident due to fear, but eventually revealed it to her guardian very recently. THE SENTINEL
