Prabin Boro and other AGP members join BPF

KOKRAJHAR, Oct 19: Former president of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) and one of the influential leaders of the AGP Prabin Boro today formally joined the BPF along with around 400 AGP members at a function held at Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) Indoor Stadium.

Boro and his party were warmly welcomed by leaders of the BPF at the special function where top leaders of both Parent, Youth and Women wing leaders were present. Boro who was accompanied by his wife and AGP workers were received by different cultural group and band party in front of the KDSA.

The president of the BPF and chief of BTC Hagrama Mohilary received Prabin Boro with traditional Aronai and expressed his hope that the BPF will be able to fulfil all the aspirations of the people of the region if everyone comes forward to work together for the development of the area as well as other regional issues. He conveyed his gratitude to all the members who have joined the BPF today and called upon all to extend support to make the party strong and sound.

In an interview, former AGP leader Prabin Boro said, he joined the BPF because he was not satisfied with the AGP leaderships for which they decided to quit from the party. He, however, divulged to give details about the internal fact of the clashes or misunderstanding.

While asked as to why he joined the BPF without joining other national or powerful regional party, Boro said the BPF emerged as a powerful regional political party and he has believe that it will be the only stable political party in the region. Besides, he has local sentiments towards BPF as being the regional party, he said, adding that he want to work with this regional sentiment. He also hoped that they will be given opportunities to work with the BPF in the days to come.

The welcome ceremony was also attended by EMs- Derhasat Basumatary, Mono Kr Brahma, Hitesh Basumatary, Sabharam Basumatary, Emmanuel Mashahary, Lwmsrao Daimary, MCLAs and leaders of Youth and Women wing BPF. THE SENTINEL
