GUWAHATI, Nov 9: The impact of the Assam bandh called today by the ULFA was felt most in the Assam Secretariat –– the headquarters of the State administration. Thin attendance of government employees and officers was recorded in the Secretariat today, which resulted in work remaining almost suspended.
It would now be interesting to note whether the government deducts a day’s salary from those employees who remained absent today. The government had yesterday issued an order asking all employees to defy the bandh and attend office. Meanwhile, most of the big business organizations in the city remained closed. THE SENTINEL
