GUWAHATI, March 13 – The Assam Enviro-Legal Protection Society, working in the field of social and legal rights of the common people, has directed its members to do a door-to-door survey to find out the incidents of violence against women.
The society, running many family-counseling centres across the State, has taken this step to spread awareness among the womenfolk, especially those of the rural areas, about their rights provided under the Constitution of India. Members of the society would submit the reports of their survey before March 20.
Celebrating the International Women’s Week, the society has appealed the common people to always respect the rights of the women in their family and society and raise voice against violation of these rights.
